Luxembourg, April 19, 2021 – Pan-European asset manager AURELIUS is pleased to announce the successful completion of AURELIUS European Opportunities IV (the “Fund”). The fund has committed a total of € 350 million from a diverse group of senior institutional investors, including US and European university foundations, pension funds, insurance companies and family offices.
AURELIUS ‘listed vehicle, AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN: DE000A0JK2A8), will – in addition to its established investment program for small and medium-sized enterprises – co-invest up to EUR 150 million with the fund, creating an overall transaction Firepower of EUR 500 million for investments in European medium-sized companies.
Although the fund is significantly oversubscribed, AURELIUS has effectively capped the fund at EUR 350 million in order to maintain investment discipline and maintain its exceptional track record. We are pleased to partner with a select group of high quality investors who will support the long term development of the business.
Through the fund, AURELIUS will continue its proven strategy of investing in company outsourcing and operational transformations in European medium-sized companies. The fund targets share cards headquartered up to 100 million in companies headquartered in Europe. AURELIUS will continue to focus on generating returns through operational improvements rather than leverage, with its portfolio companies benefiting from access to the AURELIUS operational task force.
This deal marks another important milestone for AURELIUS and offers its stakeholders further sustainable value creation opportunities. The fund is the latest development from AURELIUS and will complement its investment activities in the lower middle class (AURELIUS Equity Opportunities), in small cap buyouts (AURELIUS Growth Investments), in the lending business (AURELIUS Finance Company) and in real estate (AURELIUS Real) Discount options).
